Born and raised along the banks of the Amstel River, Hanneke has spent her entire life immersed in the art, culture, and history of Amsterdam. With a sculptor for a father and an art historian for a mother, she grew up traveling across Europe, visiting museums and historical sites, and developing a deep passion for storytelling.
She began her guiding career in 2005 while completing her Master’s degree in Art Education at the University of Amsterdam. Starting in museums, she led diverse groups, from schoolchildren to history enthusiasts, before transitioning to private tours in 2016. Since then, she has crafted personalized experiences for families, couples, and solo travelers, ensuring each guest gains a deeper appreciation of the city’s rich heritage.
